South Shore raises rates

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Rail Line is proposing a five-percent fare increase for passengers.

On Monday night, the railway had a meeting on the issue at the South Bend Regional Airport.

The increase is expected to take effect on Feb. 15.

It would make the cost to travel from South Bend to Chicago $11.75. That's a 60-cent increase over the current fare.
