BUCHANAN, Mich. -- The Buchanan Art Center will be holding the “Stand with Ukraine” exhibition from May 11 through June 5.
Hosted at the BAC’s Hess Gallery, the exhibition includes a public reception on Sunday, May 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and aims to show Ukrainian solidarity through its art.
Among the artists featured are Buchanan Art Center instructors Vasilisa Kiselevich and Olga Orlovksa-Soaltys. They have participated in Chicago protests against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and will be using photographs and other images in their showcase.
The exhibition also features artists Sandy Williams and Jeff Matejovsky with their painting titled Dark Days. Focused on the horrors of war, the piece pictures the hearts of Ukrainian refugees alight with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
The Buchanan Art Center’s address is 117 W. Front St. in Buchanan.
The event is free to attend. More information regarding this event, purchasing artwork or registration for classes can be found at the Buchanan Art Center’s website or by calling 269-697-4005.
