Strong winds topple multiple semi-trucks in La Porte County

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a personal injury crash involving a semi-truck with empty trailer on Friday morning on US 421 south of C.R. 800 South.

Authorities say the crash was wind related.

Deputies on scene reported sustained west winds of 34 mph and gusts up to 54 mph.

Two additional CMV wind-related crashes are also under investigation on State Road 39. One rollover crash was at the intersection of Young Road, while the other was at CR 1500 South.
