Teen dies after being hit by SUV in Elkhart County

WAKARUSA, Ind. – The 15-year-old girl who was hit by an SUV while riding her bike just east of Wakarusa has died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Amanda Zimmerman passed away at approximately noon at the Memorial Hospital in South Bend from blunt force trauma.
The driver of the SUV, Greg Yoder, 39, of New Paris says he didn't see Zimmerman when his SUV hit her bike on Sunday afternoon. Yoder was driving west on CR 40 west of CR 7. Zimemrman was also headed in the same direction.
As of right now the police in Elkhart County are still investigating this incident.
