Three teens arrested for allegedly fleeing from police
Elkhart Police arrested three teenagers for resisting law enforcement while investigating vehicle break-ins.
Elkhart Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Rainbow Bend around 7:30 a.m. Saturday to investigate reports of people breaking into vehicles.
A witness provided a location and description of the suspects, police said.
At 8:07 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Nappanee Street to investigate reports of a person throwing rocks at a building. A witness provided a location and description of the suspect.
Officers arrived in the area and saw subjects matching the descriptions of the suspects.
As officers approached the suspects, they ran away, police said.
The subjects were captured a short distance away and taken into custody.
The subjects were described as three males, two 13-year-olds and one 16-year old.
All three were arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement.
The theft case remains under investigation.
There was no damage to the building from the rocks.
