Toddler flown to hospital after getting bitten by a dog

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- A 21-month-old boy was bitten by a dog Thursday night.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to the home at 11625 N. CR 200 West in Milford after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a dog bite to a toddler at 8:43 p.m.
Emergency responders requested Lutheran Air to respond because of large cuts to the child's forehead and face.
The child was transported to Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne in serious condition.
The mother told officers the child was petting the Great Dane when he inadvertently stepped on the dog's paw. That's when the dog turned and bit the toddler.
