Two students caught with guns in two South Bend schools

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - South Bend police are questioning a Riley High School student and a Jackson Middle School student after they both brought guns into school Tuesday.

Police say the first incident happened Tuesday morning at Riley.

School administrators were notified about a possible situation and when they checked the student's backpack, they found a firearm.

Later Tuesday morning Jackson Middle School was placed in lockdown after the administration received reports that a student might have a gun.

They searched the student's backpack and they found a pellet gun.

Both students were taken to the Juvenile Justice Center
