Woman charged with arson in connection with fire in downtown St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. - A 47-year-old woman is charged with arson and child endangerment in connection with a fire in the 400 block of Main Street in St. Joseph Monday afternoon, according to the St. Joseph Public Safety Department.

Firefighters were called to the fire at 1:55 p.m. Monday to put out the flames.

The building holds commercial office buildings on the first floor and residential apartments on the second.

Crews located the fire in an upstairs apartment.

The building received extensive damage but no one was injured.
