Yoga on Ice!
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Namaste Michiana! Howard Park is hosting their first ever Yoga on Ice!
The FREE event will start at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15th at Howard Park in South Bend.
Yoga instructor, Lacey Peters will be instructing a 45-minute, slow flow on the Tire Rack Ice Pond.
The session promises to warm you up by having the participants hold their poses a little longer to generate inner heat.
And the executive director of South Bend's venues, parks and art, Aaron Perri, says it is an event you will not want to miss!
Howard Park will be providing hot chocolate and tea for all of the participants.
If intersted, registration is taking place the day of and you will need to get there early to make sure you are able to secure your spot.
This may take some time as all participants will need to sign wavers and will also need to get set up on the ice.
Participants must bring a towel/beach towel and yoga mat.
The towel is necessary to keep the mat in place.
There will be a few yoga mats available on a first come, first serve basis.
The park also recommends that you dress warmly with all of the necessary layers and winter gear.
- Shoes or boots with warm socks (no barefeet)
- Hats, gloves, coats.
- Layers.
- Possibly hand and feet warmers if you are so inclined.
- Balaclava or face mask is optional depending on your specific cold temperment.
- Sunglasses because the sun can reflect off of the snow and ice.
The event itself is FREE, however Howard Park will be accepting donations to help support on-going opportunities like this.
