Young singers celebrate new pope at Notre Dame's Basilica

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Catholics from all over the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend celebrated the new pope in song Friday.
About 400 young singers from the diocese participated in a special choral mass at Notre Dame's Basilica.
It was an invitation-only event.
The area's bishop says it was a year of practice paying off for the church's youngest members.
The students participating ranged in age. The youngest was 10. The oldest were in high school.
All attend catholic schools.
