BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Berrien County Commissioners are not in favor of a new potential real estate law that would allow for-profit real estate agencies like Zillow to obtain official property records for free or at a discounted price.
The cost of these property records would have to be covered by tax-payers rather than the company itself, according to county officials.
Commissioners also say that it could put tax payers at risk of data mining, which is the process of extracting and discovering patterns in large systems of data related to consumers.
