ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The man who was convicted of killing Eric Phillips in June 2018 has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for one count of murder.

Elbert Briggs was convicted of murder in June 2019 and was sentenced Tuesday.

The other suspect in this case is scheduled to go to trial in October 2019. Tastacia Parker is facing charges of attempted robbery and felony murder.
