Car chase up to 130 mph ends in arrest

Marshall County Jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office announced a man's arrest after he allegedly led deputies on a high-speed chase Monday evening, including driving at speeds over 100 miles per hour and driving the wrong way on US 30.

The driver, 33-year-old Kepree D. Allen, was taken to the Marshall County Jail and charged with Aggravated Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement, OWI Controlled Substance, Reckless Driving, and Possession of Marijuana.

Around 6:59 p.m. Monday, Marshall County deputies say they attempted to initiate a traffic stop when a car was speeding. The car instead sped away, leading to the deputies pursuing it.

The driver, Allen, allegedly violated a variety of traffic laws, driving the wrong way on US 30 as well as hitting speeds of 130 miles per hour.

Officers attempted to stop Allen at Lincoln Highway and Pioneer Street with stop sticks. However, one officer was injured while setting up the stop sticks. Around the same time, Allen allegedly swerved toward the officer in question but did not hit him with the car.

Allen's car eventually crashed at S.R. 17 and Sycamore Road, where he then allegedly ran on foot before being apprehended, taken to Plymouth Hospital, and then taken to Marshall County Jail.
