Driver killed in collision with Amtrak train identified


MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- The driver who was killed in a collision with an Amtrak train on Thursday has been identified.

The victim was identified as 67-year-old William Wilkinson of Michigan City.

Michigan City Police were called to the area of Eastwood and Tyron roads around 7:30 a.m. after an Amtrak train collided with a Honda.

Wilkinson died at the scene.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash.
