Breezy but warming up today
ELKHART CO., Ind. - The Council on Aging of Elkhart County asked for more community help to fund its programs.
The agency provides transportation, in-home services and other services to those over the age of 55.
Most of its funding comes from small government grants and Medicaid. CEo David Toney said that funding is not enough.
We have 40 people on the waitlist to go to either a medical appointment or grocery store," he said. "Because we have so many people needing services, we have hit the ceiling of all of our grants. So we have 40 people waiting; we can't provide that to them because there is no funding."
