Evening snow tonight will create hazardous conditions tomorrow

The Michigan counties of our area are waking up to scattered but light lake effect snow showers. The snow persists through most of the morning but gradually tapers off through the second half of the day. Dense fog is popping up in northern Indiana and will likely cause delays on the road in tandem with slick conditions from the snowpack on the ground. Plan on moderate delays to work today and give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to warm up the car and shovel out a path if necessary. Most of Michiana stays cloudy and quiet in the afternoon, but more system snow will sweep across the area tonight. Most of our region can expect another 1 to 3 inches tonight, but some communities south of US-30 could exceed the 3 inch mark before tomorrow morning. Because of the moderate impacts expected during tomorrow morning's commute, a winter weather advisory has been put into effect starting tonight and expiring tomorrow morning for all northern Indiana counties. The second half of Tuesday sees the snow go away while temperatures drop.
