Hundreds of tickets still available for upcoming AC/DC show despite first return to South Bend in 43 years
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Not only are they Back in Black; they're back in South Bend for the first time in 40 years.
AC/DC is the latest big-name musical act to perform at Notre Dame Stadium, set to rock the house this Friday night, September 4th.
Though, fans might be Thunderstruck at the number of tickets still available.
Hundreds of tickets still up for grabs on Ticketmaster, the official ticketing partner of Noter Dame, with the cheapest seats coming in at $80 a pop.
"There will not be a bigger rock ticket in this town probably ever than AC/DC at Notre Dame this weekend," says Warren Kluck, a 103.9 The Bear radio personality.
This time, they're shaking down the thunder at the House that Rockne Built.
"When Notre Dame started hosting concerts they came out with Garth Brooks, then we got a Luke Combs, Zach Bryan, Billy Joel came, and as a rock fan you're kind of sitting around waiting and thinking 'Alright our time's coming, maybe they'll have something for us," says Kluck.

A rock band this notable hasn't had a show in South Bend in years, really since AC/DC's last stop in town in 1983 during their Flick of the Switch World Tour with a show inside the ACC at Notre Dame.
"In the past, if you wanted to see AC/DC it was Chicago, it was Detroit, it was DC, it was a big city, so the fact that they're playing down the road from the station, no hotel room, a couple hours for a babysitter, it's a slam dunk," Kluck says.
Even if at this point, it's more of a legacy act.
"You're talking about two, three, four generations of people that have listened and come up with AC/DC music," explains Kluck.
Despite hundreds of seats still available for Friday night, Kluck says the demand is there.
Not only is The Bear hosting giveaways for free tickets all week; he points to last-minute buyers hoping to wait out the weather and maybe a drop in high prices.
"If you're going to spend your hard-earned ticket money, you want to make you're going to get the best experience," says Kluck. "So, you're going to wait till the last possible minute, check the weather, see if there are any deals, or win them on the radio which takes your budget down to zero."
This doesn't include ticket resale sites like SeatGeek, StubHub, or TickPick which also have tickets available for the show.
The concert is this Friday, September 4th at Notre Dame Stadium beginning at 7:30pm.
