Marshall County man charged with strangling woman in front of child
Marshall County Sheriff\'s Office MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department announced that, while responding to a domestic disturbance Tuesday evening, its deputies arrested a man for Strangulation and Resisting Arrest while attempting to attack the deputies with a deadly weapon.
Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of S.R. 17 regarding a call of a man strangling a woman in front of a child.
Upon the deputies' arrival, they say Joshua Hostetler, the 31-year-old man in question, attempted to batter the deputies, resisting law enforcement until he was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail.
Hostetler was charged with Attempted Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Battery - Adult Knowing Presence of Child Less Than 16 Years Old, Strangulation, and Resisting law Enforcement.
Hostetler received a $10,000 bond.
