Possible suspect arrested in hit and run of pregnant woman
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police arrested a possible suspect in a hit and run that injured a pregnant woman Wednesday evening near the Family Dollar on Western Avenue.

The crash seriously injured 29-year-old Shanon Clewell of Auburn, Indiana. Clewell, who is pregnant, was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Clewell was crossing the 3300 block of W. Western Avenue around 9 p.m Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Western.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
Officials say the vehicle was impounded on Friday night when the suspect was apprehended.
