Prosecutor undecided on special prosecutor in fatal shooting of Eric Logan

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office says it has not decided whether requesting a special prosecutor is appropriate to investigate the officer involved fatal shooting of Eric Logan.

Logan was shot and killed by South Bend Police Sergeant Ryan O'Neill around 3:30 a.m. June 16 on W. Colfax Avenue, according to the County Metro Homicide Unit.

Prosecutor Ken Cotter's office says the appointment of a special prosecutor is governed by Indiana law and he has not determined whether requesting a special prosecutor is appropriate.
