Public information meetings set for Transformation Zone Plan

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—South Bend Schools' incoming superintendent, Dr. Todd Cummings, is hosting three opportunities for anyone interested in learning more about the Transformation Zone Plan.
The meeting opportunities are:
Tuesday, May 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Martin’s Super Market Side Door Deli (upstairs), at 525 S. Mayflower Road
Wednesday, May 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Navarre Middle School (“Let’s Talk” format), at 4702 W. Ford Street
Thursday, May 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at La Rosita, at 2909 W. Western Avenue

The State Board of Education approved the plan on May 1 for five schools to become a “transformation zone” under Indiana law.
The five schools are Navarre Middle School and elementary schools Coquillard, Harrison, Warren and Wilson.
As part of the plan, the schools will receive autonomy and support to create customized educational experiences for students.
