Spotty storms and breezy, Tuesday
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- South Haven Area Emergency Services reports crews responded to a residence on 73rd Street near 6th Street around 8:45 a.m., Thursday.
The two residents reported being awakened by an explosion.
The report states the flames spread to a travel trailer behind the home as well.
Both residents and two dogs were able to escape
Upon arrival, crews observed heavy flames coming from the home.
Firefighters from the Bangor Community Fire Department and Covert Township Fire Department were also on scene to assist.
Crews were on scene more than three hours, officials said.
The report states a water supply line had to be stretched hundreds of feet to the closest fire hydrant.
The South Haven Police Department also arrived to provide traffic control.
The residence was heavily damaged, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
