Warm to start the week, Rainy week ahead
SOUTH BEND, Ind.- As sectional playoffs begin, the St. Joseph High School football team hopes to gain momentum following their first win of the season.
Bryon Whitten, the Indians football coach, said, “I'm really proud of how hard the kids have worked and they deserve it. I'm most happy for them, I'm most happy for our coaching staff of how hard they work. It was well over due. So, it's exciting, it's a sense of relief but we're using it as motivation to get the ball rolling and win two in a row this week."
Senior football player, Patrick Driscoll agreed, saying, “This whole year we were saying how we needed to get the ball rolling and pretty much the playoffs is the only thing that matters, so to get that before the playoffs, to get that one win means a lot. Team morale is up and our confidence is up, so it's perfect.”
The team faces off against Logansport (2-7) at home in South Bend on Friday.
