ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks and the Heartland Mushers Association are coming together to bring a two-hour class to Elkhart on Mushing.
You can learn to play the dog-powered sport at Mushing 101 on Saturday in a 2-hour session at the Benton Dam parking lot in River Preserve County Park.
On Thursday, ABC57's Summer Horan spoke with Elkhart County Parks' Interpretive Naturalist, Krista Daniels, and Heartland Mushers Association's Keith Miller about Mushing 101, what it entails, and how you can participate. In addition, they were joined by a special canine guest.
You don't need to bring anything except your dog, though some dogs, such as chihuahuas, cannot participate.
If you're looking to go to Mushing 101, remember that you'll need to register first before the end of Thursday. The class will run you $10 and you must be 12 years of age or older.
