Odynski pled guilty to Murder, a Felony, on Jan. 9., according to court documents.
On Thursday, Odynski was sentenced to 60 years with 50 years of executed time in the Indiana Department of Corrections, 10 years suspended, and five years of probation.
Case documents reveal on July 30, 2024, at 10:35 p.m. South Bend police officers were alerted to a Shot Spotter report in the 3600 block of Sample Street.
Police arrived to find Walton-Davis lying in an alley suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities say their investigation led them to Odynski as the suspect.
Odynski had escaped from a supervised outing at a South Bend Cubs game and failed to return to the Juvenile Justice Facility on Friday, July 26, 2024.
During the game, police say Odynski left the stadium after using another person's phone to text his girlfriend to pick him up.
Police learned his girlfriend lived at a home on Edison Avenue in South Bend. Officers followed up with the lead but were unable to locate Odynski at that time.
Court documents state Odynski had been with three juveniles and Walton-Davis on July 30, 2024.
