NOW: Webinar reveals new details on Dowagiac data center expansion

DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- A webinar hosted by Hyperscale Data Inc. Tuesday addressed several questions surrounding their already announced plans to expand the active data center campus in Dowagiac.

The 30-megawatt facility has the capacity of growth up to 340 megawatts, and has 617,000 square feet to build in. Hyperscale confirmed they also have 48 acres under contract with the potential for another 20 acres of land nearby.

Hyperscale CEO, Will Horne, says the campus is being engineered to drastically reduce direct and indirect C02 emissions into the atmosphere. The project is expected to bring in 500 jobs to the area over the next three years and finish within five to six years.

These details come after the city of Dowagiac issued an open letter to Hyperscale in March, asking for transparency on their plans for expansion, first announced in July of last year.
