Driver killed, passenger injured after car hits trees, overturns

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A driver was killed and his passenger was injured after a vehicle crash early Friday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were dispatched to Centreville-Constantine and Burgener roads for a crash at 12:32 a.m.

The investigation revealed a Toyota Camry was traveling southwest on Centreville-Constantine Road when it cross the center line, went off the road, struck two trees head on and overturned, deputies said.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 33-year-old female passenger was airlifted to Bronson Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
