FieldTurf installation nearly complete at Notre Dame Stadium

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The installation of artificial turf at Notre Dame Stadium is almost complete. The school says the FieldTurf just needs a few minor touch-ups.

The season opener is in one month.

The school announced it would install the FieldTurf in May and has been working on the project ever since.

According to the university, there will be nine diagonal stripes in each end zone pointing towards the Basilica and the Golden Dome.

Each diagonal line will be at a 42-degree angle. The eighteen stripes and the 42-degree angle represent the year of the university's founding - 1842.
