Helping Hands of Cass County to hold 1st annual Hole in One and Putting Contest

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Helping Hands of Cass County is set to host their first annual Hole in One and Putting Contest on July 5 in honor of the organization turning 40 this year.

The event will take place at the Diamond Lake Golf Club at 6:30 p.m., with a silent auction table being available in addition to contests.

Cost for participates is $25 per event.

Helping Hands fundraising goal for this year is to raise $50,000 to help give back to the community.

“We know that transportation is an issue for many of our Cass County neighbors. We want to acquire a sprinter van to deliver food and other support to those in need,” stated Joan Murphy, Helping Hands of Cass County’s President.

Murphy continues, "We will always focus on providing basic needs to our Cass County residents; food, clothing and personal care items. In addition, we also want to expand many of the programs that we began earlier this year, especially our focus on schools – providing clothing, hygiene products, and academic camps.”

When discussing prizes for this event, Bill Loux the Operations Director for both Orchard Hills Country Club and Diamond Lake Golf Club stated, "I am excited about this event. The 20 participants closest to the pin will qualify for the chance to win a new car sponsored by Gates Toyota, a 2024 Toyota Venza with an MSRP over $40,000."

Loux continues, "The Putting contest is expected to generate a few winners. While they won’t win a car, we will have something nice for the winners.”

This will be a family friendly event for all to enjoy and will also feature live music, games for kids, and even ice cream.
