Isolated storms this evening, heat wave this weekend

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Thursday, June 19 (Juneteenth), 2025

There could be an isolated shower or thunderstorm early this evening across Michiana. However, most of the area will be dry and pleasant with temperatures falling through the 70s and 60s. We'll start with sunshine in the morning, but clouds will move in by the afternoon. Highs will finish in the middle 80s.

The first heat wave of the year will begin on Saturday. Highs will be in the 90s from Saturday through Wednesday of next week. It could feel like close to 100 degrees during peak heating. Additionally, low temperatures will only fall into the middle to upper 70s. While this part of heat waves doesn't usually get a lot of attention, it is actually one of the most important aspects of extreme heat. Without access to air conditioning, it is extremely difficult for your body to cool down with low temperatures this warm. We'll likely break records for "warm low temperatures" heading into next week.

The heat will begin to break by the middle of next week as storm chances return to Michiana.

Tonight: An isolated evening shower possible. Otherwise, mainly clear skies. Low 63.

Tomorrow: Sun and clouds in the morning, then mostly cloudy. High 85.

Saturday: Hot and humid. High 94. Feels like temps: Near 100.

Sunday: Very hot and humid. High 95. Feels like temps: 100+
